This year Contemporary Pediatrics launched its inaugural Resident Writers Award program, where residents and fellows throughout the United States were invited to submit one of their most challenging cases, worked on during their residency or fellowship program.
Contemporary Pediatrics spoke with several of the entrants about why they submitted their particular cases and what best practices and takeaways were the result of treating their patient. In the next interview of the series, Matthew Metzger, MD, PGY2, who is a resident at the Herman and Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, discusses his case of 4-year-old who had a fever, headache, and a diffuse rash. Dr. Metzger discusses how the case highlights the need to be aware of how location can impact what's included in the differential diagnosis.
Fluoxetine helps refractory nocturnal enuresis but not for long
