Ensuring prompt full payment can be helped by successfully engaging parents.
Ensuring that a practice gets paid for care provided is not the most favorite activity of a practice’s staff, but it’s very necessary to keep things running smoothly and the practice in business. Using patient engagement can help lessen the burden on the staff when it comes to collecting payment and it can also keep the patient incentivized to offer prompt and in full payment.
Some best practices that may help improve this engagement include:
- Discussing what the insurance will cover and what the family may owe.
- Offer a variety of ways to pay: cash, credit card, and check
- Ensure that families can pay their bill online and the information is on the bill sent to them
