Eye on Washington

July begins with a bang in the nation's capital-a literal one. Tourists oohhh and aahhh over the magnificent fireworks display that arcs the night sky of the National Mall on Independence Day. Members of Congress, on the other hand, celebrate at home, where they meet and greet constituents on parade routes and around barbecue pits.
