Editor’s note: Dr. Paul Offit, MD, is the Director of the Vaccine Education Center and an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, as well as an internationally recognized expert in the fields of virology and immunology. He is also the co-inventor of a landmark vaccine achievment for the prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis.

We recently spoke with Dr. Offit about the COVID-19 vaccine in children aged less than 12 years; vaccine hesitators vs vaccine cynics; and who should be administering the COVID-19 vaccines for children.
