A study in more than 100 preschool children enrolled in a Head Start program shows that computer exposure before or during the preschool years is associated with development of preschool concepts and cognition. Neither the frequency of computer use nor having child electronic or video games in the home showed the same relationship, however (Li X et al: Pediatrics 2004;113;1715).
