Product: MacroView Digital Otoscope

Article

MacroView Digital Otoscope allows for greater magnification and improved illumination.

This year, Welch Allyn introduced a digital Macro-View. This device doesn't look that different-the standard focusing ring and insufflation port are still there. But the Digital MacroView has no viewing port, because it connects via a USB cable to a computer. You can capture images or videos of the tympanic membrane with a click of a button on the otoscope head, and zoom in for a close-up on the screen. Pediatricians can point out findings to parents and/or patients. Images and videos can be saved on EMR software, or archived on you computer. The Digital MacroView otoscope is priced at about $1,000.
