The American Academy of Pediatrics statement on the Supreme Court overturn of Roe v Wade.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) was swift to respond to today's Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade. In a statement just released, the AAP noted, "the once consitutionally protected right to access an abortion is no longer guaranteed nationwide. This decision carries grave consequences for our adolescent patients, who already face more barriers than adults in accessing comprehensive reproductive health care services and abortion care."

The release went on to say, "in the wake of this ruling, the AAP will continue to support our chapters as states consider policies affecting access to abortion care, and pediatricians will continue to support our patients."
