The 2020-2021 influenza season is around the corner and it poses an even bigger threat than it normally would because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has already taken a major toll on the US health care system. Panelists joining Dr. Rasmussen will include Juliet Morrison, PhD, an assistant professor at the University of California – Riverside, and Andreas Handel, PhD, an associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Georgia in Athens.

Questions discussed will include:

  • How should co-infections be managed?
  • What should be done to prioritize testing and diagnosing?
  • What strategies could improve vaccine coverage?
  • What can be done to reduce transmission and preserve the current function of health systems?
