Opening keynote

AAP President Susan Kressly, MD, FAAP, will open the 2025 AAP National Conference & Exhibition in Denver, Colorado, with remarks reflecting on the evolving challenges pediatricians face and the Academy’s ongoing role in advocating for child health.

“Community is critical and the energizing spirit created at the National Conference is what we all need right now,” said Elizabeth Murray, DO, FAAP, chair of the National Conference & Exhibition Planning Group.

The conference will be held from Friday, September 26, to Tuesday, September 30, at the Colorado Convention Center and is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees from 71 countries.

Keynote speaker Dr. Glaucomflecken

Ophthalmologist and popular medical comedian Will Flanary, MD—better known online as Dr. Glaucomflecken—will deliver the keynote address. Known for his viral skits that satirize life in medicine, Flanary brings personal experience as a testicular cancer and cardiac arrest survivor to his unique blend of humor and advocacy.

Flanary’s work has evolved from a creative coping outlet into a widely followed commentary on systemic issues in health care.

AI, mental health, and special needs care

The conference will feature over 260 educational sessions on a range of timely pediatric topics. Attendees will explore how to incorporate artificial intelligence into pediatric practices, address the impact of social media on youth, and improve access to support for patients with special education needs.

Other sessions will cover core pediatric issues such as injury prevention, chronic disease management, nutrition, and the growing mental health crisis among children and adolescents.

Hands-on learning and global engagement

In addition to breakout sessions, the conference includes a large exhibit hall featuring hundreds of booths showcasing the latest innovations in pediatric medicine, technology, and tools for clinical care.

With attendees representing more than 70 nations, the 2025 event provides a unique global forum for collaboration, discussion, and innovation in pediatric health.
