Nurture, Inc, prompted by the FDA, has alerted healthcare providers to a voluntary recall of specific varieties and date codes of Happytot Stage 4 and Happybaby Stage 1 and Stage 2 pouch meals with expiration dates between November 2010 and January 2011.
The recall is related to a packaging flaw that could cause the product to leak, which may lead to potential bacterial contamination. The meals are contained in plastic pouches and caps.
Specific UPC codes of affected products, which range from green beans to mangoes, are listed in the firm's press release at: http://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls/ucm197522.htm. The products are sold at fewer than 300 locations nationwide. According to Nurture, less than half of 1% of the products sold to date would be affected by this packaging flaw.
